Adam Ortega, Christian Author and Bible Teacher

The Bible Made Plain for Real People with Real Pain.

Welcome, my beloved friend.

I write Christian books and teach Scripture for children, families, and adults who want truth they can understand, hope that does not pretend life is easy, and a real relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Bible was never meant to belong only to scholars, pastors, or people who seem to have life figured out. It was given to ordinary people living real lives.

My work is to help you open it, understand it, and see Jesus more clearly.

“The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart.”

Psalm 34:18

I Want You to Feel Welcome Before I Teach You Anything

Some people arrive here with a Bible under their arm.

Others arrive carrying questions, grief, disappointment, or the quiet fear that they may never understand Scripture well enough.

Some love church. Others are not sure they belong there.

I write for people in both places.

I will tell you the truth, but I will not talk down to you. I will not hide simple truth behind impressive language. I will not pretend pain is easy or that faith means acting like everything is fine.

We will open the Bible, face the real problem honestly, and look for the hope God actually gives.

You are not too broken for God to reach, and you are not too ordinary for Him to use.

Stories That Welcome You In and Leave Truth Behind

I write for different ages, different seasons, and different kinds of readers, but the purpose never changes.

The story should hold your attention.

The truth should be clear.

Something meaningful should stay with you after the final page.

Why Stories Made Plain Exists

Biblical Truth Should Be Deep Without Being Needlessly Difficult

Second Timothy 3:16–17 says:

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

God gave us His Word to teach us, correct us, train us, reveal Jesus to us, and show us how to walk with Him.

If Scripture is meant to shape ordinary lives, ordinary people must be able to understand it.

Stories Made Plain exists to bring biblical depth into everyday language without watering down the truth.

Make Scripture Clear

I explain the Bible in plain language so a new believer can follow it without making the teaching so shallow that a mature Christian has nothing to learn.

2 Timothy 3:16–17

Give Hope Without Hype

Real faith does not pretend life never hurts. Biblical hope tells the truth about pain while pointing to the God who remains near, faithful, and able to redeem what has been broken.

Psalm 34:18

Lead People Toward Jesus

Information alone is not the goal. Every book, lesson, film, and resource should help people see Jesus Christ more clearly and take one honest step toward Him.

John 14:6

A Little of My Story

I Do Not Write From a Distance

My relationship with God began when I was a young man in high school, but real Christian maturity took much time to develop.

God began changing my heart and teaching me what love, grace, truth, surrender, and faithful obedience actually looked like.

The years since then have not all been easy.

I have known loss. I have watched plans fall apart. I have lived through business failure, financial hardship, disappointment, and physical suffering. There were seasons when I could not see how the next chapter would work, but God remained faithful.

That is why I write from the heart, from experience, and from what Scripture has taught me personally.

I know what it is to need more than a shallow answer.

I know what it is to discover that real faith is not pretending life does not hurt. Real faith is learning to trust God in the middle of what hurts.

I am not the hero of my story.

Jesus is.

Who I Serve

I Write for People Who Need the Bible to Feel Close

You may belong here if you have ever thought:

“I want to know God, but I do not know where to begin.”

The Bible can feel overwhelming when no one has shown you how its story fits together. You do not have to understand everything before you take the first step.

“I believe, but I feel far from God.”

Distance, disappointment, sin, grief, and exhaustion can leave a believer feeling spiritually numb. Scripture calls us back to honest prayer, repentance, trust, obedience, and relationship.

“I want my child to know Jesus, not just learn moral lessons.”

Children need more than stories telling them to behave. They need to know who God is, what Jesus has done, why the gospel matters, and how faith connects to everyday life.

“I want biblical depth without feeling like I need a seminary degree.”

Plain language does not mean shallow teaching. The goal is truth that welcomes a new believer and still carries enough weight for someone who has studied Scripture for years.

The overlooked are not overlooked by God.

1 Samuel 16:7

The Truth Beneath Everything I Write

Scripture Is Not Decoration

I do not begin with an opinion and search for a Bible verse to support it.

Scripture is the authority.

Every story, lesson, devotional, film, and resource should remain faithful to what God has revealed in His Word.

The Bible Is God’s Word

The Bible is trustworthy, true, living, powerful, and authoritative for faith and life. It reveals who God is, who we are, what sin is, who Jesus is, and how we are saved.

2 Timothy 3:16–17
Hebrews 4:12

Jesus Christ Is Savior and Lord

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, God in the flesh, Savior, Redeemer, Lord, and King. He died for our sins, was buried, and rose again.

“I am the way, the truth, and the life.”

John 14:6
1 Corinthians 15:3–4

The Gospel Is Rescue

All people have sinned and need salvation. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not by becoming religious enough, behaving well enough, or earning God’s favor.

Romans 3:23
Ephesians 2:8–9

Grace Calls Us to Change

Repentance means turning from sin and turning toward God. Grace forgives us, teaches us, and changes us. It is not permission to remain in rebellion.

Acts 3:19
Titus 2:11–12

God Is Near in Suffering

Pain is real and should never be minimized. God can comfort, shape, strengthen, and redeem what hurts without pretending the pain itself was good.

Psalm 34:18
2 Corinthians 1:3–4

The Vision

The Goal Is Larger Than One Book

I want Stories Made Plain to become a growing library of Christian books, narrated stories, Bible lessons, animated films, devotionals, children’s resources, evangelism tools, and practical teaching materials.

The goal is not to make Scripture smaller.

The goal is to make it clearer.

I want to create material that is simple enough for a struggling person to understand, strong enough for a mature Christian to respect, and faithful enough that Jesus Christ remains at the center.

I want children to see biblical truth inside stories they remember.

I want hurting adults to discover that God has not forgotten them.

I want churches, teachers, and families to have resources they can actually use.

I want ordinary believers to feel confident opening the Bible for themselves.

Biblical depth. Everyday language. Jesus at the center.

Books That Open Conversations

Stories that welcome readers in and make room for meaningful conversations about faith, choices, grace, truth, and Jesus.

Teaching That Makes Scripture Clear

Bible teaching that respects the depth of God’s Word without hiding its meaning behind complicated language.

Resources That Help People Take the Next Step

Practical tools that help individuals, families, teachers, and churches learn, share, and live biblical truth.
